Hello,

I wanted to know if it is possible and how could i make my weapon (my weapon is a book) shoot out different types of cards (not just one type of card and when i mean cards i mean like yu-gi-oh cards). I guess the cards would represent different types of ammo. Can someone be really specific in how to do that i would greatly appreciate it. So in essence, the bullets would be cards, is it possible to have multiple ammo per weapon? iam looking to have at least 20 to 30 different types of cards per that one book. I would greatly appreciate your help, thank you.

p.s. the cards would glow, like gambit's cards (gambit from x-men)

It's possible. Maybe.

First off, you should probabily use Ply's Mod because it is the only way you can detect which weapon an enemy is being shot at. So, it would be ideal if want to have different cards have different effects on different enemies. Ply's Mod also makes it possible to have an inventory system which you would probabily need because you can only hotkey nine(9) different weapons and while you can have more it might take annoyingly long to scroll through 20 or 30 card types.

As for the weapon. You are not really going to be able to have multiple ammotypes but what you can do is have the same weapon duplicated over and over again but with a different texture for the active card. If you set up the transition animations correctly it can be quite seamless and possibly look really cool too. The card being shot out is going to be a little tricky because it would have to be part of the animation for the weapon and not an actual card object being spawned on its own. Yes, you could use the flak system for the cards but I don't know if you want explosions all of the time though maybe you do. You can probabily use shaders to make the cards glow but it will be really tricky to have some really stunning visual effect.
