Hey this one is mainly aimed at Ply. Would i be able to remove the splash at the start of each of the built games if i were to put it at the start of the menu in stead.

Explanation:

My game consists of several build games all linked by a DB Pro menu. Would i be able to remove the splash screen for each of the built games and place it when you come into the DB Pro menu. (PS I may need some help if you say yes on how to do this...).

Also I am wondering how to make a link between the CD that it will be installed from and the installed file. Because every computer is different in terms of drives ( D:,C:,E:, ect...) I cant link it that way. The only solution i can think of is having the installed files tell their locations to the CD, therefore linking them. That wont be very professional. If any one can 'shed' some light on the situation that would be great. So would a reply form PLY

No.

The splashscreen cannot be removed. The image and it's calling code is imbedded into the FPSC-Game executable of the Demo.

If you would like a version of Ply's Mod WITHOUT the splash screen, then buy the full version.

Ow I was hoping there was a way... Any one any ideas on making the link between the CD and the installed. If i can get one to find the other i can send a message with the directory and then get a perminent link created.

Ok. everyone has different drive names, right? so I want my program that will be installed on a persons computer to look in the CD drive. Which in my coputer is (G. It will probably be different on yours. I need some one of thinging of a way for the installed program to loacte the correct CD drive and to then be able to check the names of cirtain files. This way i can have it so that it will only enter the main game loop if the CD is located and therefore it can not be copied and pasted around the web (the game).

This should have probably gone in scripting. If i get it working i will post the program for the CD loactor on the web.

First you are asking a way to reverse someone eles program
and then how to protect your own.

Don`t you think this is a bit two faced.

I was asking for permission first, and i was going to just move sthe splash from in the middle of the program to the beginning, so it will still be in there. Secondly I have solved the problem. I think that it is a bit ingenius (dont know how to spell).

For anyone with the same problem, heres the answer. Every computer has a C: drive, unless the owner changes the name (not sure why they would do it). Get the directory and write it to the C: drive. Then get the CD to read it and then write its own directory. Then the original program can delete them both and wala! They can write directly to each other
