Export it as a .3ds file, and from there you can convert it to .x using most free converter progs. If you have DB Classic, there is a program with it that converts .3ds to .x or you can use the command 3ds2x "model.3ds", "model.x"

Whatever I did I didn't do it!

An .x file is the standard DirectX model file. Most major modelling formats support it, and it is highly compatible with DirectX based programs like Darkbasic.

NWC: Yeah, the command in DBC is 3ds2x 3dsFile$, xFile$
where 3dsFile$ is the 3ds file you want to convert, and xFile$ is the file you want to convert it to.

Cheers,
Kentaree

Edit the 3ds file and convert it whenever you need it in db. Easy!

Brains are for idiots.

milkshape in later versions has a mesh import for x models not listed in the file section but over to the right in tools / direct x mesh tools.

No can't help but will keep watching this space cos I wan't an editor to read different file extensions & convert to others (3D) must be stupid cos i've tried all ideas i've read about & they all come up with file not supported or a big blank space when exploring DB Classic Media for a model to work with.
