This is the beginning of a third person shooter I'm making.
As of now, I have a basic testing map, and a semi-working engine.

DONE:
Movement

SEMI DONE(working but buggy):
Ammo system(can't reload until the clip is empty)
AI for enemies (very basic. want to had things like finding cover and stuff)
Cover(can enter cover, but can't move left or right)
collision detection with map and player(can get stuck in the wall.)

UNFINISHED:
story(I know...)
levels
health system

anyway, any help or comments are welcomed.
Thanks

Looks really nice!
Good job
However, I think that the houses are VERY small compared to the street. A car that would fit on the street is probably almost as big as that little house. Maybe you should make the houses a bit bigger?

thanks guys
yeah, I kind of suck at level design
I've been searching the fourm for some advice, but I guess sometimes practice is the best way to improve

The level looks nice . I'm not sure if you meant to post a demo or something, but the download link in your first post isn't working.

I can't play either, you have it as some strange file... i think it's related to steam in which i don't have.

The download size is 0 bytes you should try re-posting it. I couldn't even tell what the filename was, I think it's a forum bug thath happens sometimes.

This is the best I could come up with...
I included the media in the next post
the location for the media should be:
"C:\Program Files\Dark Basic Software\Dark Basic Professional\Projects\shooter"

Ssh. You're not a mod.

Anyway, I suggest that you ZIP the file(s), some people are quite wary about downloading an EXE.

that's the problem...
when I send it to a zipped file, there's some sorta bug or something that isn't allowing the information to be zipped...
basicly people are just downloading nothing...
I don't know how to fix the problem.

I know
I tired to upload a zipped media file, but it had an error too...
so I'm not entirely sure what to do.

okay, I remade an engine that is similar to the original, however, this requires no media.
note that because I had to remake the entire engine basicly, many of the features are not completed.
Collision with map, for example, as well as reload, which for some strange reason sometimes gets the wrong numbers.

Here is the code if you want to put in the map which I'll load in the next post.
