Newcomers DBPro Corner / One input throughout several sections of game?

Hey, I was wondering if I would be able to do this. I need to use an input that's entered at the beginning of the game, several times throughout different sections of it. For example: The player enters thier name at the beginning, and then instead of using "you", it uses the players name...Is this possible?

Depending upon the structure of your code and whether or not you are using functions (which you really should be doing ^_^), you may need to make particular variables GLOBAL at the start of your code.

E.g.

You should check out some of the tutorials threads at the top of this board - those should be able to get you started with relatively simple problems like these.
