Whenever I try to preview my game, it takes literally 5 minutes to "Calculate Object Light" and this is the same when I try to build it.
I have all the new patches, and newest version of my video card drivers as well as the March 2009 DX10 update.

Is this normal or is there any way to fix this problem?

I know my computer specs are not at fault:

I have the same problem. I don't know why it does this, though. I was just about to post a new thread about it. It may be normal, but I hope not and hope so at the same time if you know what I mean.

Yes its normal if you have full lights on. If you want a faster preview load turn it to best for performance, but leave it for build game as best for quality and don't worry about it doing it every time. Cause once you have build the level once it loads the dbo and dbu to run it the second time and so on. So it wont take long the next time you run the game unless you added something to the map then it will have to calculate it all over again. But if you thought that 5 min was bad you should of seen fps creator x9 when it first came out it took like 12 hours or more to calculate the lights on full even in a small level..

I'm having the same exact problem. The weird thing is, it didn't start until recently... Guess I'll try the "performance" thing.
