Hi to all, wondering if someone can help?
say i want to make a door lock that has a jig-saw for its key, is it possible to pick up a piece of the jig-saw, take it to the door and the door show the piece inside the puzzle, basically can i attatch objects to other objects on the fly.
Or would i build an object with the seperate keys already in and hide them, so when i bring each key the script makes object show it?
also is it possible to attach a key to an enemy so when killed enemy drops the key (i have got this to work a diff way using trigger zones to activate the key when enemy in nolonger in the zone but its not ideal)
any help would be great

I'll take a mod's place before he says it.

Unhelpful Titles

Please do not simply write "Noob Question", "I am a newb", "One Noobie Question", "A question", "Please help", "This isn't working" or anything similar as the title of your post. We have a search facility, and meaningless titles do not help others find answers to their questions. It will also help you to get quicker responses if people have an idea of your thread content.

What about meaningless responses, MiniMod

Yes. If you had 4 pieces to pick up, you would need to make an image (decal perhaps) of the puzzle at each stage of completion. as each piece is picked up, the image is changed to the next. When the last image is displayed (complete puzzle) the door would open.

I can't do it all in my head, but it seems possible enough to do.

As for the enemy dropping a key, it's been done. Search for drop or key.... can't remember.

Brian.

@ The Fps Creator Rocks! - if you searched the forum you will find another person gave same thread title as me and got this response from BULLSHOCK2 who is a mod
"you wouldent need to do it that way to spawn a key.
i dont remember off of the top of my head, but theres a way to give an enemy a key i think by right clicking.
or even better, you could have a remote door that was opened when the enemy died.
i will check when i get home and then post back."

I will take on board you would like a more descriptive title but layoff on the noob talk pal because your chatting rubbish.

@ xplosys its not a meaningless respone its a suggestion, as what i have in mind will take some time to build in blender so its ready to be imported into fpsc, i didnt want to waste time bulding it to find out the fpi code wouldnt let me do what i wanted it to, Thank you for the yes on the decal suggestion im going to do a simple test to see if it works before making the actual model.
