Is it possible to script binoculars? Doing it as a weapon is easy but It isn't what I want. I need to know so I can get to work.

its possible with out air mod, just make a hud that looks like your looking into binoculars then make them a weapon and add this to the gunspec.txt

zoommode = 1

and

zoomscope = INSERT HUD NAME HERE

I said I know how to do it with a weapon and I also said I wanted to do it with scripting. That way, when I press Z it will zoom.

I don't think this is possible with scripting alone unless you are using a mod. I looked through the list of actions and conditions for the stock engine, and there isn't anything you could use to simulate this. This is the same problem with a true flashlight - the commands in the stock engine just don't support it.

Flashlights that are out actually aren't bad but the binoculars thing really stinks.

If you make a binocular model and you have airmod i bet toasty fresh could rig it to EAI's Hands and make it zoom in like 3d

You can do this using the FOV commands in AirMod to zoom in through scripting... then just overlay a HUD on screen to make it look like you're looking through binoculars

I'll use your mod, Ply, when it is transferred to v1.15. Thanks for the help!

It has been transfered. The V1.09 Mod has all V1.15 features in it. You can download the beta from the website or from one of the posts int he official thread.

Why are you uninstalling V1.15? Ply's Mod V1.09 needs V1.15 installed in order to work.

Leave V1.15 installed and just install Ply's Mod. It should work fine.

Ok, now I'm kind of confused. V1.09 needs v1.15? Weird. Thanks, though, Ply.

V1.09 of Ply's Mod uses the newest source code from V1.15 of FPSC.

V1.08 and earlier of Ply's Mod were based off of the V1.07 source code, so they require an earlier version of FPSC in order to work.

So if you're using V1.09 of Ply's Mod, then V1.15 of FPSC is required.

Mods have different version numbers than that of FPSC.

Shouldnt there be an easier way?

1. take one of the stock Firearms with a scope.
2. replace the model with one of a hand with binoculars or a spyglass(in action flics soldiers often unse scopes or small scope-like instruments)
3. dont add ammo for the "weapon" upon spawning or in the levels.

of course there wouldnt be any zooming and the scope model including hands had to be done but scripts and hud would work from stock.

and the guy creating the "XIX" gun from Model Pack 9 http://www.fpscreator.com/pack9.html could use most of his existing stuff (i guess )

In case you find my grammar and spelling weird ---> native German speaker ^^
