Newcomers DBPro Corner / Cannot install FPSC

I am downloading FPSC Creator for the sedond time. I tried to download the demp edition and got an error message about not having the right DX edition or something like that.
I have not taken all the old things off the computer and am starting all over again from scratch. Have about 3 hours left on the download.
I am using windows XP with SP2 and meet the minimum requirements for the download and install. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.
Somewhere I found something about XP being a problem but cannot remember what it was.

You need to download the newest DirectX from here.
If something else is wrong, please leave a message.
