I downloaded the demo for FPSC and I realized the AI was HORRIBLE. Is the AI in x10 really any better? I want tough AI.

Yes it is much much better i would give it the following rating very quick of course im tired.

FPSC X9 = 1/10
FPSC X10 = 6/10
Far Cry 2/Crysis = 10/10

Could be improved but its still very good for FPSC being a cheap engine.

It sure is im happy with the AI the X9 guys are total idiots walking into walls you can even stand right next to them and they dont move.

well x9 AI is good too! i mean the enemies from x10 cannot walk waypoints, and x9 can use pace.fpi and cover.fpi. then they are awesome good!

but darkai is good too..

Well honestly i never used the way points as they where so buggy they made the character walk into things and everything wasn't very believable.

i really like it that way, good for guards

I think the reason the A.I. way point don't work in x10 (well for following them in the same pattern as you laid out.) is cause of the fact they have a built-in patrol. so they are random of were they move when in patrol.. Guess to give it a more realistic feel. But it does suck we cant make them patrol in a line or something.

Now that Lee has introduced support for X9 scripts in X10 I'm not sure why the waypoint scripts don't work in the same way.

Has anyone tried setting the enemy AI to patrol and increasing the active distance of the enemy to see if they wonder around the level or do they only patrol in the room they are in?

I've done something similar Nomad, and it seems that the enemies won't move at all with version 1.08. Haven't tested 1.09 BETA yet, but unless they changed darkai it shouldn't change.

Don't ask about my forum name. LONG story.

@lampsrus: I think 1.09 is official now. Check for updates in FPSCx10
