I saw Cyclones thread in the scripts section with the ironsights for the Model Pack 9 and 10 guns. Whilst they were nice, they couldnt line up correctly due to the way the guns were positioned. I emailed Errant and asked him if there was any way I could rotate it. He said to use fragmotion but there was a chance it wouldnt work. So I opened a gun up and tried it out and after a few hours of swearing and banging my head on the table, I managed to get some decent ironsights from it!

For some reason however, I cant seem to get the pistols or the shotguns to work as they show up funny in fragmotion, so for now, its only the rifles I'm afraid (Including the MP5N). I've uploaded a video to show you guys the ironsights. It's a work in progress so theres a few things I need to adjust

Heres the video: http://www.vimeo.com/4758052

I know the terms in redistributing media that we buy from TGC, so I'm not sure if I can give out the guns HUD.X files to you all. I'll have to ask Errant. I can however show you guys how I did it and then provide the gunspecs for you

(Also, if this belongs anywhere else mods, please move it ;])

Kudos on this! The M4 looks quite level

You should adjust the x,y positioning to get it to line up better but looks like a really great start. I'll review the files you emailed me in a day or two (pretty busy right now).

Yea, just try to make it line up. See if you can make it so you can look through the Iron Sight though. It is very cool.

I already have but I kinda cheated

Instead of making a seperate ironsights animation, I rigged old weapons to the new ones from the GCS. A bit messy, but still works cool. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ly7G2yPn_6A

Anomalous, those ironsights are the things that I'm trying to fix. They are wonky and dont line up with the crosshair at all. The one's I'm working on would blow them out of the water if I manage to sort them.

Oh, and please dont highjack my thread.

Yes. Thats the way ironsights are MEANT to be. Besides, what your doing has already been done. Cyclone has made a thread in the scripts section with his own that are pretty decent.

I apoligize for the slight bump I've just caused but i had a question. When i use fragmotion and edit a gun in any way the animations dont work in fpsc. Even if its as simple as adding a scope to a pre-made fpsc gun (like an mp5n in toastys vid, which btw is very nice ) The gun also appears backwards. Some advice or details could help me out here. Fragmotion unlike other modelling programs appears...different to me.

I can appreciate Black Metal more now. [/off topic]

These new perspectives with the rifles look very nice.

Well done.

Yeah I have to rotate the characters 180 degees in frag too.

I go out from FragMOTION as a Milkshape file, then open it in that and export as the X (JT) for FPSC.

I usually use FragMOTION to make/edit models an UV map with it too. (buggy UV'ing but I got it figured out now)

I usually animate and create bones and assign the vertices to them and what not in MilkShape, but I create bones in Frag too sometimes when adding them.

All modeling programs have different interfaces and Frag is its own beast, but it a nice program once you get used to it.

Yeah I've been animating things in milkshape this whole time for my own weaponary. I felt like making some editing copies of the fpsc guns tho. As in added scopes, editing the looks etc. Without having to reanimate.

Unless its possible to open up in frag than export to milkshape and keep the bones?

EDIT: WHOA i never noticed frag could import its bones into milkshape! Hell im gonna have some fun with mixing and matching guns now

Never underestimate the powers of the dark side... (that's "misunderestimated" to you Bush fans)

That's why these two compliment each other, like a Frag Milk Yin Yang.

Yeah its pretty simple to add scopes and that to your guns.

I added a scope and a silencer to the 636c. video is attached.

note that it isnt the silenced version from the GCS. it's my own custom one.
