Well I am making a game for school and the main engine is done so know it is time for me to make a map editor. Since the game is a 2d side scroller, i have been thinking of ways i could place enemies and have their postitons recorded. I have a variable which keeps track of the side scrolling postitions and i thiught if i add the mouse's x i would have an image at the mouse'x and it base postition would world's x plus mouse's x. So confused, if you understand and can help please do.

Thanks, Stefan

You may think your confused but it sounds like it'll work to me. You just need to know the maps upper left coordinate of the screen and add the current MOUSEX() to that to position your enemies. I'd add numbers 0 to 9 for different enemies so you just move the mouse where you want it and hit a number to place the enemy. It would also probably be a good idea to track the MOUSEY() position too... unless all your enemies will start at the same y coordinate.
