I'm playing around with security camera monitors using decals (quick, low res video attached) and I can't seem to find my settings info. I know I had this at one time but can't find it.

1. Can someone help me with the facing settings? I don't want it to face the player, but just stay still.

2. What's the best way to change the size? Do I need to make the images in the array smaller, or is there another setting for this?

3. Can the speed be adjusted?

Thanks,
Brian.

1) Open Decal.fpi, the settings are in there:

2) Open the Decalspec.txt in the decal's folder in gamecore/decals, and edit the scale,

3) Errrmmm, don't know about that one lol...

You cant adjust the speed of the animation, but you can compensate by using less frames in your animation.

What I mean by that, is you have 16 frames total for the animation sequence. If you animate all 16 frames the animation runs at warp speed.

But if you make an animation that contains only, say four different frames. you can have each frame play four times each, for the total of 16 frames, and your animation will appear to run slower.

I wish that this issue could be addressed in future updates, to give us more flexibility in the use of animations.

Hope this helps my friend.

Instead of pointing to decal.fpi, point to decalfixed.fpi and it won't rotate to face the player.

CoffeeGrunt, thanks. I knew they were somewhere. Scale= in decalspec works fine.

Cosmic Prophet, thanks bud. I purposely made the images close together to try and get a smooth, camera like motion. What you suggest will work but be jerky for a sweeping camera. I tried the speed command but of course, to no avail.

Nickydude, Oh you mean the easy way. Thanks.

I guess for now I'll just be making static images, or perhaps just switching back and forth between 2 locations. Hopefully 8 frames each won't seem to fast?

Thanks for the help.

Brian.
