*Update*

Because of some engine crashes, the design of our forth arena was a real challenge. Finally, we've made it to design a temple/bunker building complex. And what would a sci-fi game be without brutal, bloodthursty, strange alien creatures with the only aim to kill you with their claws? And for that reason, you will meet these creatures in that building complex.
Our first thoughts went into very different directions. Our first plan for this arena was a crashed starship in the jungle, but that did not turn out well. The second plan was to design a starship landing bay, as well located in a jungle area. Another plan that could not be realized. And because the landing bay looked much more like a lost temple, that's why this arena finally ended up being a temple in it's third and final layout with horrible creatures in it's depths. So don't forget to check our development gallery for all available images.

Looks nice,maybe a nice retexture of those mutants would give a fresh look.I would also suggest lowering the ambience slightly,will give the temple more creepy looks.

*Update*

We're currently working on upgrading all the weapons, meaning we're attaching hands to them. Here are some screenies of Tavor and Mini-Gun. But other weapons will be in the game, too. I will be posting a full list of weapons that will probably be in the final version once we've finished a sci-fi grenade that is in the planning yet

As well in progress is our fifth arena, a Power Reactor Control Station. I hope to be able to update again soon, showing you some screenies of this one.

I would switch the hands on the mini-gun. Have the left hand going across the screen to hold the front bar, with the right hand on the trigger. Tavor looks awesome!

Sorry for the double-post, but here's another

*Update*

As already announced, we're releasing screenshots of our so far finished fifth arena of ten, the Power Reactor Control Station. It's a dark building containing tubes and consoles, holding the unlimited control over the mighty power core for the winner - or maybe not? Let's see what our sixth arena will be about.
As we're currently moving over to the FPSC Engine Source Code "Horror" Mod by knxrb, Star Guard has now an upgraded lists of features. The most important one will obviously be: The excellent and stable framerate for Single- and Multiplayer. Aside from that great framerate, Star Guard will not only have standard Deathmatch Mode, but Team Deathmatch will be added as well. And the 3D Particle System will in the very near future add realistic blood and some other nice effects that wouldn't be possible with the Standard Engine.
Last but not least, we'd like to let you know we just begun the music production for Star Guard. So far, we're only recording some test soundtracks to sort out what fits and what does not. Most probably, there will be some nice guitar chords as background music, but consider that's only an early thought yet.
The promised weapons list is not done yet because we're still not sure what to do with two of the weapons, will be FPSC Standard Weapons only, anyway. We will surely be posting a WIP list soon.

Not bad, the level design could use some work, but otherwise, looking good!
I like the way the hands are holding the tavor and assault rifle, although on others it looks like it's struggling to bend it's elbow. In other words, it looks somewhat weird but that's just me.

the tavor and rocket launcher look great, i think if you moved the minigun closer to the center of the screen and down a bit it would look more natural

All the hands look great on the rifles but something doesn't look right on the bazooka and (as people have said) the minigun.

For the bazooka I think the hand should be moved back - I don't think it would be held so near the end of the barrel.

Okay,

I'll try to change the Mini-Gun, it's difficult to have the arms crossed without having the player looking right "into" one of the arms. That's why I left it this way so far

I changed some of the gun textures with GIMP2, and the hands are from Model Pack 5, but re-textured as well.

*Update*

We lowered the global level ambience light to only 50% of the value we had used before and slightly changed it to having a touch of blue. This gives the game much more atmosphere. Check our latest screenshots of the Single-Player Campaign which is still an alpha build yet.

The campaign will mainly contain deathmatch games, some of them including some special mission objectives, but the character of deathmatch will remain, anyway.
The Power Reactor Core is the arena we lately came to finish after a long time of development. You can see the use of the particle system for the design of the core.

The game soundtrack is composed to a high degree, we've started to record some tracks, but it takes lots of time. So for that reason, Star Guard will definitely be coming in 2010, not this year anymore. We're currently looking forward to April or May as possible months for the final beta build, but it might take less or even more time, especially considering all the bugs we killed so far and even more waiting to be hunted, regarding that we finally spend our personal spare time on this project.
