Thanks man! give it a download to see for yourself!

Sorry mate, I will recompile with a v09 if I can! really sorry about that dude!

Quote: "Played it, here are the ole specs...

Processor: Dual Core 2.13GHz
RAM: 2 GB
Graphics Card: nVidia GeForce 8800 GT

Overall Performance: 8.5 / 10

Comments: Ran perfectly smooth, I tried jumping/crouching/running wherever I could to find lag, didn't detect one hint of it though.
The atmosphere is fantastic, I'm not sure how you get the fog to be thick like that, to the point where it seems to be lingering right around you even looking down at your feet! But it's perfect.
The lighting is good, not too bright, not too dark.
Entity placement is great, the warehouse itself feels a little baron however, but even some trash overlay's here and there on the floor would add just the right element to the mix.
You're outdoor area is almost flawless, the wires across the buildings and poles add nice scenery detail; the only thing I could suggest is maybe adding a few buildings in the background. Just simple, low poly ones with a single texture and window would even be great. Just an idea.

Looking forward to episode one man

-Cheers "

Thanks for the great feedback! Im glad to here that it ran smooth!

The warehosue is very bare I will agree! Need to find some trash piles and that sort of thing to add detail!

The outside scene im rather proud of actually but I will definatly try some low poly buildings in teh background!

Thanks again man!

Processor: Dual Core 2.60GHz
RAM: 3GB
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon X1550

Overall Performance: 8 / 10

Comments: It ran pretty smoothly, I don't know if it was lag or a low player speed, but the player seemed fairly slow. Nevertheless, the environments were beautiful, just as I imagined it. I think you should make the waste pools, (like the one the van is trapped in), damage the player, or maybe even have a rad meter using variables, which would add an extra dimension to the game...

Comments: Awesome, too bad the demo was too short. The framerate was smooth,I liked the STALKER inspired level, one thing I was able to do is climb up the bulldozer up the roof of the shed, then onto the poles and out of the level.Add an invisible wall or something.

That would be awesome. I really want to play this game, because it looks and sounds really cool based on what everyone else is saying about it.

I think this was just a beta test, to see if it ran good for everyone and to get some feedback on particular things.
I'm guessing Episode One, when released, will be much longer

Hey guys!

Thanks for the killer feedback! Has really helped! Braden is right, this was purely a beta of the outside level to check framerates and such. The actual episode is a lot longer and a lot more interesting!

Quote: "I think you should make the waste pools, (like the one the van is trapped in), damage the player, or maybe even have a rad meter using variables, which would add an extra dimension to the game..."

Thats exactly what i have planned, i wasn't going to give it away but since you mentioned it! Definitely going to add something like this!

Quote: "one thing I was able to do is climb up the bulldozer up the roof of the shed, then onto the poles and out of the level.Add an invisible wall or something."

Thanks for the heads up! I will look into this for sure.

Quote: "well, ijust played it, WAY TO SHORT, but great lighting, did you use a custom shader for it?"

Thanks man, like i said, its just a beta performance test of the outside level. The light is all standard. Same with the fog. Glad you liked it!

Have decided to add a new level that is sort of like a training center. Hopefully will help explain the story more as well!

Thanks again guys, more updates comming soon!

Really?? Wow haha, now I feel silly. I use static lights, even try using full light mapping, and I still cannot seem to get shadows.
Then everytime I see it in a game, I get confounded!

Have you changed the lightmapquality in the setup file? Took me a while to realize too. HERE that thread explains its.

Strange, is your ambient lighting down?

Yeah the game is coming along well. Did most of the scripts yesterday, realized how bad at it I am, but I have learned a lot about the FPI language.

Braden, make sure lightmapping=1 and lightmapold=0 in your setup.ini. Afterwards, save it, and restart FPS Creator.

I checked, lightmapping was at 1 and lightmapold was at 0, now when you say "restart" FPSC, what do you mean exactly? Simply just make sure changes are made while FPSC is not running, then open it up?

Close out of FPS Creator after you save the changes in the setup.ini, and restart FPS Creator. If that doesn't work, try restarting your computer after you've made the changes to the setup file. If that still doens't work, here is my setup.ini gamemake:

Dr. Parsnips, sorry to hijack your thread. I downloaded your demo a few days ago, the level design was very good. Keep up the great work

No problem guys! Hope it all gets sorted out!

Good news, have pretty much finished episode one.

Even better news is that I have contacted a publisher and they seem interested. Still its very early on and im not anticipating it to work out but its still nice to hear.

Expect episode one next week. I will give a more firm release date soon.

-Cheers

(Kravenwolf - sorry man, still didn't work for some reason. I get shadows, but they're not definite and sharp looking, they're pretty blocky and indeterminate on where they'll actually be)
(Oh and yes, haha sorry Dr Parsnips, we'll straighten this out soon )

Sorry to hear that! I am hopefully going to purchase project blue which should help stabilize the level.

Any who onto business. I need testers for episode one. I have completed it, and of course it will be free and what not but i want to test it before release. So if you are interested just post hear and I will get back to you. I probably need at least two. Maximum is five. Thanks guys!

Looks amazing! The fog adds a nice touch in atmosphere. Only thing I don't like is that the shadow on the ceiling looks kinda uggly, looks more like a burn mark. I'm having the same problem and it propably can't be fixed.

I totally agree and have been trying to get rid of this problem. The harsh shadows don't look right on the ceilling. I might try a different light fixture. On that doesnt hang like that. see if that fixes the problem.
