I'm creating the game that uses plastic army men as enemies, and I would appreciate it if someone would teach me how to make it so a character appears as a solid color instead of thier normal texture.
Example: All green thug
Thanks for your help!

1. this is the wrong board.
2. find the texture file of the thug
3. open said file
4. save a backup
5. draw a big solid green box over the entire texture
6. save it
7. re-open FPSC and go nuts.
I havnt used FPSC in a long time, so I dont know if thats right.

One thing to add to save you confusion. Be sure to save a backup file of the original character texture as flashing snall mentioned, but between steps 5 and 7, make sure the character's .fpe file is actually using the texture you made (otherwise his original--and now backup--texture will still be applied to him). Good luck.

Hmm...ok... I've attached a solid green 512x512 texture to this post. Place this in the entity folder with the character you want to use, and open that character's .fpe file. Change the texture so that it uses the texture "armytexture.tga". There aren't any features in this texture, so your character will appear completely green without eyes, etc.

Very crude, yes; but this should give you a little practice on the subject.

I gave you exactly what you asked for.

If you want to give the texture detail, you can either open the original texture in a paint program and color in green, or you can use the solid green template I gave you, open the character's UV map as a transparent layer on the texture, and use it as a guide to add in details. Personally, it would be easier to use the character's original texture, and just add green from there. Good luck.

Getting the characters to be green and plastic looking won't be difficult. You'll just have to play around with the existing textures until you have what you want. Of course, you'll have to do the weapons as well.
