In the version I had in mind they come out of the walls ceiling or floor, I also requested a drop/escape pod in my list earlier, like in Star Wars ep4 and in Quake 2, I guess they could also drop enemies in, Ive also had the idea of a machine that has a corkscrew tunneling type thing on the front and it lies under the ground, then when you don't expect it burrows up through the ground and surfaces, a door/hatch open and enemies come rushing out, Ive had that idea for years, it would be awesome to see it.

Also the hidden enemy bringer thing, could also have one that is a turret or trap, or even one that brings pick ups.

I get what you mean, like the Gears of War 2 grindlifts, but backwards...

If I was ever given the opportunity to remove all the bad from the world, I wouldn't, because for there to be heroism, compassion and all that is good, there must also be all that is bad.

Jewish dude: Sorry, did'nt get it.

fallen one: Sounds cool, let me see what I can come up with.

I can build the tunneling machine with an animated drill head. It will be able to follow waypoints. Spawning the enimies from within would be the hard part, ( for me anyway). If anyone knows how to make this work, Let me know what models would be needed, and I'll build them.

Escape pod is almost done, just needs a texture map.

Seth: Transporter pod is on the list.

Man!, I hope you guys got a lot of drive space.

Indeed. Of course the problem with dynamic entities is that you can't enter them. You can however place a dynamic entity inside a static one and achieve the same effect. I've always wanted a tele-pod too.

...yeppers. Real bug-a-boo and a downer, to be sure.

:::THIS PARAGRAPH REDACTED BY SETH BLACK:::

I'm very curious to see if there is any other method that could be used, to pull off
the illusion, in a more simplified manner.

Actually, the illusion should be possible by carefully splicing (deliberate pun intended)
a static and dynamic entity into registration.

Static entities have no physics influence on dynamic entities. Perhaps an animated
top half with door/hatch placed atop a static bottom main chamber can achieve the illusion.

If anyone can make it a reality, I'm confident that the master...Cosmic Prophet...can make it happen...

Seth Black: How is it possible to spawn a static entity ?! "...a dynamic entity to be destroyed, and to seamlessly replace it
with a spawned static one." You probably meant replace with an immobile and undestroyable dynamic one?

...you are indeed correct.

After thinking more about it...the secondary entity always has been dynamic, but immobile.

Entering this way would not work.

Static entity hidden within the dynamic, and then destroy the dynamic, leaving the static alone,
gives the current best shot, but still wouldn't have the correct appearance.

The whole vehicle-in-FPSC issue still persists.

Back to square one...

The pod would be made very simply (for Cos, anyway), and as a basic static entity. The dynamic entity just has to be placed right there with it, and it can be anything at all.

As an example, take a cargo container from model pack 3 and place it down as static. Now you can enter it and walk around. Next place down a sci-fi teleport pad inside the container. It can even be placed below it and it still teleports you out. The only difficulty would be trying to make it all in one piece.

If Cosmic Prophet make one, I'll write a little setup tut to go with it, using the sci-fi pad so that everyone will be able to do it.

...true, true. Very simple to create.

If any animation was incorporated into a swinging or lifting door or hatch, it may compromise the illusion.

The open door or hatch of the static entity couldn't be concealed by the dynamic version, which hadn't opened yet.

Perhaps The Fly-esque Teleportation Pod needs to wait until a later date, to be fully realized in FPSC...

Hi,

Your work is truly stunning and I'm so impressed with your generosity.

If you're still taking ideas, I've a few..

Iris doors.
Rotating landing lights
An Ion/Plasma Cannon (for scenery)
A round elevator + round tube (not sure about that one, technically) - might need a curved door and be four corner segments to make up the tube.
Giant Tesla coils.
An advanced MRI/Cat scan machine
Some new sci-fi wall lights

OK, that was a few more than I'd planned to post, so please feel free to ignore my suggestions and thanks again.

I had to download an older version of the iPhone SDK, 1.75 gig on a slow server, the computer I was using was tied up for the download, so I thought Id let it do two things at once and render a skybox for the pack.

Every sci fi setting needs a space scene, so here is one for the pack.

Ill set these up on the sky box and get them to you tomorrow.
I may get round to checking the HD for anything else, I have some Greeble models, not textured or UVed, Ill send them as well if you want them and I can find them.

Wonderful! Wow, That's beautiful. Thanks Fallen One.

I've got the other segments UV mapped. All they need is a texture.

I've also got the Teleport Pod built, and mapped.

see attachment: I made it simalar to the pod from the movie "The fly". Which is what was asked for. Let me know if it's OK before I finish it up.

Yep! It's in 2 pieces the Pod (static), and the Door unit (Dynamic).

The door will have 2 animations. Open and Close. Alowing you to enter the pod. The only thing I cant figure yet is how to actuate the transport without opening the door again.

Any Ideas? (Is it possible to ativate the transport effect with a keystroke, other than "Enter"?)

Scorple: I'm working on the list of requests from earlier in the thread. I'm trying to get them all finished before release. I've got around 10 models left.

There will be close to 150 new items in this one.
Will post screens soon.

Jewish dude: Sure did, Thanks. It's been added to the pack. ( It's really cool too!)
