hello i want to make a series of (simple) light rays differently from Darmics tutorial. What i want to do is make a solid model that appears transparent like a window. however unlike the windows when i set the transparency to 1 it doesn't appear any different. I have it set to dynamic, immobile but it still doesn't work. please anyone who knows a solution tell me.

on another note if this cant work i understand that to make Darmics version work you must invert the faces however i don't know how to invert faces in Blender. If anyone knows how then I could just do that

thanks

Hey:

How to flip the normals?

- Select all faces in Blender 3D.
- Click "W".

- Then search for Flip Normals.
---------------------------------------
About Transparancy:

- You can do this within the texture.
- Static objects only allow fully transparancy or none.
- With dynamic objects can have a value within that.
- So you have to have your object dynamic.
- And edit the texture.
- My experiences is that the "transparancy" in fpsc is not always that good.

PS: Paint.net Photoshop, Gimp can make a texture a semi-transparant.

Hope I helped you out,

Nice skybox.

Are you sure that you made it transparance in texture, or did you tried within the preferences?

Delete the dbo and bin files first.

get paint.net

then open your texture

double click on the current layer

and play with the opacity

then save it as a dds file, that supports transparancy
