Yeah... so I've made a model of a sphere. Texturing and model turns out fine, but with one problem. The sphere appears to be stuck in the floor. I used the same settings as I had for a crate I made previously, with the exception of changing collisions to sphere. What have I done wrong, and how can I correct it?

Screenshot if necessary:

You can either use a "find floor" on your 3d App or else in the FPSC editor use "Page Up" or "Page Down" to set you object wherever you want to(up and down, in this case).

Hope this helps!

I tried the Page Up and Page Down method, and it seemed to have no effect. What's more is my object seems to be able to merge with another object until it is near the centre, then the merging stops. Screen shot if necessary:

Use the command "RAISEFACTOR=" in the entities .fpe file and start with a value of about 20 I think. Adjust as necessary from there.

I made a new FPI for it with the RAISEFACTOR being 20 and it had no effect.

What's more... if I pick it up and then drop it, it usually falls through the map. I think I accidentally adjusted a setting sometime that causes this error.

If anybody can just make the model of a sphere about that size and overlay it with the attached texture, it would be most appreciated.

Unhelpful Titles

Please do not simply write "Noob Question", "I am a newb", "One Noobie Question", "A question", "Please help", "This isn't working" or anything similar as the title of your post. We have a search facility, and meaningless titles do not help others find answers to their questions. It will also help you to get quicker responses if people have an idea of your thread content.

Thanks for notifying me Nickydude. If you can, rename the thread to something like "sphere model glitch"...

And guys, I think I figured out the problem. To increase my object's size, I made the scale 1000, which meant it rendered through the floor. Once I remade the entity with the scale set at 100, it did not go through the floor, but it turned out incredibly small, so I'll remake the sphere to be bigger. Is there any way to resize the sphere in FPS Creator? Or will I have to remake the sphere model as a bigger object in my 3D object designer?

Remember (and sorry for not saying it because I forgot) to delete the dbo and bin files after making changes to an entity if you want those changes to show up. If you are using a recent update and deleted the bin and dbo files, it will indeed raise the object.

I understand that enlarging the object pushed it through the floor. That makes sense because the center of the object changed position.

To change the scale of an object in FPSC, add SCALE= to the fpe and the percentage number of the change you want, like say 200. Again, this will change the position of the objects center and push it through the floor. You will still need to use RAISEFACTOR= to raise it up again. Don't forget to delete the objects bin and dbo files.

That makes perfect sense now. It was the .bin and .dbo files causing it to not take effect. I forgot to delete them when I remade the sphere.

Thanks ever so much... the problem is fixed now.
