Hi All,

Is there a way to change the fog density (like distance). I'm trying to get the fog to look up close, but don't want it to block out the sky (which is somwhat far away).

Also, does anyone know of a way to animate the fog? Or make it look like a swirling and moving mist?

Thanks,
john...

You may want to try a ghosted textured plain in front of the cam , before any object, or a textured ghosted cylinder enclosing the cam , with a scrolling fog texture...

fog is universal, it works on distance from the camera, so you can`t have the sky visible and the scenery covered in fog, like scorpyo said you will have to fake it with transparent textured plains or cylinders, the other option would be to use a bsp and volumetric fog, but bsp maps are not that useful anyway, so faking the fog may be the best bet.

Umm... To Change The Fog Distance You Would Just Use...

Fog Distance [Max Distance seen through fog]

And To Make The sky still visible you can say...

Set Object [Sky Number],1,1,1,1,1,0 [DB Classic]

or...

Set Object Fog [Sky Number],0 [DB Pro]

...I don't know if this is the effect you want... but i hope it helps anyways...

They said volumetric fog was coming in DBPro, but I have seen nothing yet...

Game_Creator's idea is probably the best.

There's no place like 127.0.0.1
