Hey, i have been making a melee weapon in 3ds max for FPSC and i was wondering if someone could guide me through animating a weapon, as i am not entirely sure if i need to set up bones etc. The actual animating i can do, just the setup, Thanks, and here is the model:

Make a bone in the size of your model, then link your model to one of those two bones you made. Then animate

Under File dropdown there are some buttons, there are two boxes and a chain between, thats the link tool, then simply select the model and select the link tool and drag from your model to a bone.
