How did you manage to get that? That's a problem with Visual C++, not the GDK. Try reinstalling everything again, and remember that you MUST start VC++ before you install the GDK.

No you're not - that's completely different.
I'll take a guess at this one though - you are either running on an old video card with 16mb graphics memory or less, or you are running your desktop in 24 bit colour mode. In this second case, switch your desktop to 32 bit mode.
