I have designed a secure vault style door below






Problem is the door was created from scratch in 3DS Max and therefore can only be exported correctly in limited formats, the Direct X exporter doesn't export geometry correct and the handles to open door are offset and rotated wrong after export

My next problem is that it is very difficult to retain the animation which is where most all the time went into, the metal bars slide down and then it twists open from center while the handle turns and raises and unlocks the bars, afterwards the red light turns green

With those two problems what I am stuck up on now is applying the texture, the UV map the texture was based on is 1 material but 3DS max has layed out a multitude of materials

I don't even know the basics to work Autodesk 3DS max but was able to work very well with meshing and animation, I always work with similar programs such as Maya, Bender, and Other and am very pressed with time meaning I don't have time to learn another program


Can somebody help with exporting Direct X correctly, Animation, and Texture from 3DS Max or 3DS file types
