I have decided against publishing in the store for now. all of my items and weapons will continue to remain free for download, including the swords. If you feel like I deserve a few $ for my work then donate it to CMG through the link on the home page of my website.

If you haven't guessed, it is a sword.

The problem with all these melee weapons for characters is, that they hold it like a pistol (which looks ok) but they cant do melle animations.

the sword itself is not bad otherwise

This model was never suppose to be highpoly. It is just a basic sword design that will be given out for free.

Quote: "Your textures could use improvement."

Understandable, I am using Paint.net and it is going to take a while for me to actually make stunning textures like EAI.

Quote: "The problem with all these melee weapons for characters is, that they hold it like a pistol (which looks ok) but they cant do melle animations."

I also wish they had melee animations, but the only why that can happen is if the models animations were edited.

Quote: "the sword itself is not bad otherwise"

Thanks

sword #2 was designed by one of my friends along with 2 or more swords I am going to make. (Yes, he loves swords so much that I haven't even seen all of his drawings)

I am in need of an opinion on three blood overlays.

I need to know which one you like... 1, 2, or 3. Just post the number of the one you like and any C&C that you want to post along with it.

They look good but the letters arent natural, the victim probably hasnt pixel perfect fingers to draw those words.Oh and for the sword,it would be possible for the enemy to hit with it as grenade throwing animation would look fine.

left sword is the new texture | right sword is the old texture

Better. After you release them, I might get them and see what I can do. As for the blood overlays, I would recommend adding semi-transparent pixels to them, to get a more blood feel to them. I've never used Paing.NET, so I can't tell you how.

I have a special gift for you all...

I been working on a secret project lately... and I made two models that I wish to give to you all.

What are they? well they are not the swords (that is the bad news)
they are two completely opposite in theme and attitude models. one is a wall torch for dungeons and the other is a rubber duck.

[This post was made with all seriousness possible except the rubber duck, although it is one of the models it is there for comedic relief]

here is the download

The license is the basic: free to use commercially and non-commercially as long as you do not claim as your own.

and

I do know that I promised the swords and doom packs for download and they will be when I get around to completing them. Ahead of them is a few secret projects that will become known in time. (NO you can not know what the secret projects are).

EDIT I will not become a publishing artist in the TGC store yet. I will continue to give my models and games out for free. If you feel that I deserve a token in the form of $ then donate it to CMG. There is a donate link on the home page of my website.

Thanks for the comments. I have been working on coffins and more swords. Here are two pics: 1 sword and 1 coffin. Keep in mind that these are shots from my modeling program and the textures are pretty close to finish.

First the Sword.

I just got the feeling that I am liked less now .

Yes I use blender and yes I understand blender well enough that I can make weapons. as well as make some pretty good looking items.

Unlike most people I do not have the luxury of having money. So... I go with what is available. I have been modeling in blender for about 8 months and gotten use to it. I know most short-cuts and developed my own techniques to produce models.

Besides blender I have Truespace, but it is a mess to model in . Also I have a little bit of experience in Maya due to a little bit of college work and a tiny bit of experience in Softimage.

There, I said my piece before people continue to start in on how bad Blender is and whatnot.

I support you, I love Blender, TBH, those people that complain it has an impossible interface obviously didn't use tutorials, or persevere with it...

Anyone who has issues learning Blender, should really check this out, they helped me immensely:

Thanks CoffeeGrunt, I am glad that there are other Blender users on the forums, and I never did use tutorials for learning blender. I just picked up on the modeling and learned a lot through Trial and Error. I also been thinking of making some basic tutorials for blender.

Gamer X,

If you do make a tut, I'll definitely check it out. I'm one of those who found it very complicated, or at least it didn't seem to flow properly. I couldn't find a natural progression.

CG, thanks for the link.

I am going to give an update of what I am up to right now. I am going to be finishing up on 4 blender video tutorials and will post links when they are uploaded to youtube. They will be titled (in order) Blender - Interface, Blender - Modeling, Blender - UV mapping pt.1, Blender - UV mapping pt.2, and Blender to FPSC. On top of that, I am working on 4 FPSC shorts for my website and working on the sword pack... I will most likely not be making weapons for the doom pack.

I'd say that blood number 2. I think that it's very cool. And the second and the 3rd swords are cool. I like 1st sword too, but not as mutch as the others. Rubber duck ROCKS!

I new that people would find something for the rubber duck. Now I have a poll put up on my CMG forums and it is for whoever wants to cast there vote. In order to cast your vote though, you will need to register for the forums.

http://forum.crazymonkeygamers.net84.net/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=50

The poll will decide on the subject of me making a few more comedy items/weapons.

I performed a little work on the soda machine and got to making three more textures for it. So there will be the "Super Soda #1" Soda machine and the "#2 Soda" Machine. There are clean versions and dirty broken versions.

Blender is a great program for those who can use it but I personally wont touch it. As far as the models go, they are getting better but you need to take more time on the texturing and possibly add more to the poly count. FPSC can handle a bunch more then people think.

I also go a bit on the lazy side when it comes to texturing on the freebies but now I have decided no matter what, the texture has to be priority #1. I have to get better at the texturing myself but practice makes perfect and truely you can have a model that has 100 poly's and look like 1000 with good textures and fake shadowing.

The swords still need a bit of work but WAY better and as I mentioned before, put some fake shadows in there and you will be amazed at the difference.

I have a new object, I made this mainly for my game but I will share with you all. It is a barrier of sorts.

I took down all my pictures that were embedded into the posts exceeded 800px in width.

Quote: "take more time on the texturing and possibly add more to the poly count"

I am only doing the best I can in texturing and I am just cautious in poly counts of models. I am still learning both Techniques in making textures and models.

I have a segment I wish to show everyone.

First off, this is a custom made wall segment (as in I made it)

Second, I will not tell you why I made it until I get some good responses.

Thirdly, I am not focused on the texture for the reason of why I have made the segment.

Fourth, do not mind the ground segment, it is TGC's and will not be distributed with the segment, if distributed at all.

without further ado, here is my segment.

Thank you for your time and effort in making the tutorials. I would like to ask if we may post them on FPS-Media as well. Cathy and I are now getting into creating models and will make use of them. General Jackson was kind enough to teach us about UV Mapping, Cosmic Prophet also sent us a tutorial and project to do together. Any tutorial we can get ahold of is a huge benefit, not just to us, but for others that want to get into creating models with the different applications.

BTW, we just love the conveyor. Have a couple of ideas on its usage. Keep up the excellent work.

Cheers

I gotten bored, once again and decided to make something different then normal. As I thought... nothing came to mind of what to make. So I decided to make my first character. With work on my entry for the FPSC contest I decided to make a ghoul. Here is a pic of my first character with basic character rig.

EDIT: The model is still experiencing a few textureing bugs and will in the end have some custom animations tacked on to it.
