Geek Culture / Patch Phive Problem!

I get an error when I try to update to patch five. The installer says it doesn't recognize the version of DBPCompiler.exe. I'm thinking this could be because maybe when patch five was released they only tested it on system that already had betas of patch five. I did not - I'm trying install from 4.1. Ideas?

Delete your DBP directory (back up your projects ) and reinstall, then patch it.

As it said in the documentation for the P5 Beta with big 'READ THIS' words all around it, you can't install the final patch over a beta

That's right. And I didn't try to, I tried to install it from 4.1. Still no luck, no matter what I do, and I must say this is really pissing me off

Well, I just reinstalled Windows altogether. I reformatted my hard drive. I reinstalled all my hardware (graphics card and printer). Ran windows update. Installed DX 9.0. Updated my Graphics Drivers.

But the first thing I did after reinstalling Windows was install Norton Anti-Virus! PE Parite.A is gone...thank God.

I think I'm safe now. I'm gonna go try install Patch Phive *cough* I mean...five...again...wish me luck...
