You need a dynamic .fpe file (dynamic because then "half" transparency works), and use the default FPSC overlay model.
I hope this helps.

My username is finnish, and it translated to english is: "CrazyIdiot" or something.

First go to your FPSC directory and find Files/entitybank/generic/overlays

inside will be a number of .fpi files. Just copy the first one you see and paste it to where ever you plan on having the overlays.

Next open the .fpi file and change: texture0= [path to your picture goes here].[whatever file extension your picture is]
and desc= [leave it blank or put the name of your overlay here e.g. blood1]

Save your changes to the .fpi file and you're done! As long as you have all the files in the right place that is.

Notes:
I recommend either .dds or .png(<--what I use for my overlays) because they both support transparency.

Make sure that the black background is total black (RGB colors 0,0,0) otherwise you will be able to see the black in-game.

If your using Photoshop you can just set the background to transparent and save as a .png and that will work just perfectly.

Well sorry for the long read, let me know if you need anymore help. Hope this helped!

There are two ways of accomplishing this...

first way: In the editor use the 1 and 2 keys to flip the overlay so that its vertical. Note that it will be invisible on one side so if you can't see it keep flipping until you do. Once you have it vertical place it close to the wall but not too close because then it will flicker in game.

second way: Download Firma and use the Texture Mixer. First you load the base texture(the wall texture) then you load the detail texture(blood overlay) then Firma lets you rotate, move, and change the transparency of the detail texture. Once the settings are to your liking save it as a wall texture. Now it should be in Firma's texture directory. Next go to "Create Room" and use your new texture for the walls and whatever you want to use on the floor. Firma is extremely easy to figure out and use, it has come in handy in countless situations for me. You can download Firma here: http://fps-files.com/index.php?site=files&file=138

Hope that helped!
