well what i can tell you is that i made some tutorials over blender. It will show you how to model, UV map, and Export. It will not however show you how to animate... (saving that one for later).

I am recommending it for all new Blender users.

File>Export>DirectX, but it won't work. Blender's .x exporter is buggy. I ended up having to buy Milkshape to export models from Blender as an .obj file, and then export from Milkshape as a .x file. But unfortunately, Obj files don't carry the animations to the next application with the mesh.

If you do figure out a way to export models with their animations from Blender without using a .x file, then please let me know I'm forced to use Milkshape to animate, which is a step down in softwares (though I'm sure people are urging to disagree with that statement)

I do the same thing, export from Blender to .OBJ and open in CharacterFX to animate.

Why not export from Blender as .3ds or pretty much anything else rather then obj since MilkShape imports pretty much everything. Cheap pipeline but not a great modeling or animating program. I own MS and it crashes on me every other time at around 2 to 5 minutes. Blender on the other hand is great for people who can type for one which I cant do without looking at the keyboard so all their hotkeys are useless to me. Dont like either program.

Almost forgot, http://www.gryllus.net/Blender/3D.html

No better place for tutorials then here.

Exporting in .x format from Blender works fine for me. I don't know about animations, because I haven't ever made any animations with it, but it says it exports animatinos...

My username is finnish, and it translated to english is: "CrazyIdiot" or something.

They don't turn out properly in DBP.
