Hi im still having problems putting a sky sphere in from the GDK media. I can put Sky Objects in no problem but when i put sky sphere in it just comes up with a blue background when i hit F5.
What im trying to do is make an open space where it looks like your in space. this is what ive done so far with out a skysphere but it still doesnt look like your in a proper space so to speak.
// Dark GDK - The Game Creators - www.thegamecreators.com
// the wizard has created a very simple project that uses Dark GDK
// it contains the basic code for a GDK application
// whenever using Dark GDK you must ensure you include the header file
#include \"DarkGDK.h\"
// the main entry point for the application is this function
void DarkGDK ( void )
{
// turn on sync rate and set maximum rate to 60 fps
dbSyncOn ( );
dbSyncRate ( 60 );
// switch to the media directory, load our world
// and turn lighting off
SetCurrentDirectory ( \"media\" );
dbMakeObjectSphere (1,10);
dbLoadImage ( \"star1.bmp\", 1 );
dbTextureObject (1,1);
dbScaleObject (1, -500, -500, -500);
// camera variables
float fCameraAngleX = 0.0f;
float fCameraAngleY = 0.0f;
// our main loop
while ( LoopGDK ( ) )
{
// move the camera using the arrow keys
dbControlCameraUsingArrowKeys ( 0, 5.0f, 0.3f );
// create a rotation axis based on mouse movement
fCameraAngleX = dbWrapValue ( fCameraAngleX + dbMouseMoveY ( ) * 0.4f );
fCameraAngleY = dbWrapValue ( fCameraAngleY + dbMouseMoveX ( ) * 0.4f );
// rotate camera
dbXRotateCamera ( fCameraAngleX );
dbYRotateCamera ( fCameraAngleY );
// update the screen
dbSync ( );
}
// return back to windows
return;
}
This does work how ever it doesnt look right. Any help on creating a star field for a open space effect i would be greatfull. Thanks.
