Dark GDK / dbPoint() function? is it slow?

I know that i had been using dbc and in dbc when you call point() which is the dbc version it would force a sync and therefore slowdown your program by A LOT! just wondering if it was similar or no?

To my understanding the point command is very slow because it needs to read the information from a back buffer... but I could be wrong.
