If I were to position a box of size 10 at 0,0,0, which part of the box actually lies at 0,0,0?? The center of the box, or a particular corner??

I think it as at the box's absolute center (equal distance inward from all 6 sides) if you made the box in db. If you make a 3d object in an external program you can place the axis pivot point anywhere in/on/outside the object. Try rotating on an axis in a loop and see how it behaves.

I think it's one of the lower corners. I don't think that helps you... =)
