Well graphically it can do anything you want it to do, take a look at the Evolution TechDemo, it has some awesome graphics and the most likely reason some of the others don't is because (not criticizing) the authors aren't as good.

To be honest with you though, DBP is nothing like Rm2k, it's an actual programming language for a start and not just very basic scripting like what you've used before. Sorry if you already know this, I'm just warning you in case you think it'll be similar to Rm2k.

Edit: There are quite a few demos on this site, go to "DarkBASIC Professional" at the top and then to "Showcase" on the left menu.

Lol, i found out ot nothing like rm2k the hardway (looking at the that black screen in DBC) They shood make the interface more appealing, like have the map editor and scripting side by side like they do in "concitec game studio".
How long do you think it would take me, a complete n00b to make a game like virtual cop in DB
Thanks 4 ur help

Ahh, fortunately Virtual Cop would be fairly easy to make because it's all pre-scripted. Although to learn the basics might take a couple weeks to a month depending on how easy you catch on.

Also, DBP has a much nicer windows-based interface but unfortunately costs a little bit more then DBC. Oh, and I should also tell you that there isn't a standard map editor that comes with DBP/DBC, if you want to use one you'd have to buy something like Cartography Shop which again costs more money. Nothing unusal though as Blitz doesn't have it's own Map Editor either.

You can get an Enhancement Pack for DBC which includes Multiplayer Commands along with some others. There's also a third party editor called "Dark Edit" for DBC which is windows-based and a lot of people use instead of the default editor. It's also created by the same person who made the DBP editor.

Dark Edit: http://darkbasic.thegamecreators.com/?m=showcase_view&i=65 - Remember, that's just an editor, you still need to buy DBC for it to work
Code Keeper: http://darkbasic.thegamecreators.com/?m=showcase_view&i=78 - Another Windows-based editor, I haven't used this personall so I can't comment.

About the multiplayer part
I advice you to buy DBC + DM its cost 60$
and you can have multiplayer + lots of very
good quality models with aminations + more commends.

Before I decited to go with DB and not 3DGS
I did some investigation about the too of them
When I ask in 3DGS forum they said that 3DGS is better
and when I asked here they told me DB is better.
I decited to go with DB because:
1. I get more option for less money - In 3DGS
you can buy the extra edition that cost 89$ and you wont be able
to do multiplaer and syuff like that. In DB you can buy DBC + DM
and you got the multiplayer part and much more and its only cost 60$.
2. DB is eaier to learn than c-script (3DGS scripting language).
3. 3DGS got a little advantage with all his software
but there are different software that can be insted of the 3DGS software.
4. About the graphic, you need to be a good programmer to do good graphic the better programmer you are the better graphic youll have.
I think that 3DGS have a better graphic eventually than DB but you need to program alot to reach it.
5. If you now VB than it will be easier for you to learn DB and if
you know JS it will be easier to learn c-script.
6. With DBC you gat more texture and models is you order DVD/CD Box than 3DGS.
7. The main reason for my - I just didn't like to way that we need
to build maps in 3DGS its just uncomfortable for me.

BTW sorry if I had many spelling mistakes orand grammar mistakes.
Its 4AM here in Israel while in writing this letter

I use CodeKeeper and i like it very much. You can make snippet codes. That you use offent. And whit one press on a button write it down. Graphics does look good in DB if you make and program them right. Wel hope it helps. And have fun with coding.

Go to Program Announcements and look in the
subject there for games and software.
I recommend SkyCar

Not to forget, 3d GameStudio has a licensing policy where you are required to flash their logo for 3 seconds (i think) in all games that you make, or pay a whopping amount of money for the privilege to remove that.

But I like C-Script. It is a more natural language for me, since I've mostly used Triple-O languages before, like VB and VC++. I wish there could be more object-orientation in DBP (I can dream, can't I?).

I still have to figure out a way to port my C-Script code library to DBP without to much blood on the floor.

There arent many pro demos out, but check out the retro competition games.

There is no lisence with DB games.
