Hello everyone,

My name's Marty. I am infact very new to TGC. A little about myself... I'm a recon operator in the U.S. Marine Corps. Obviously, I take a good interest in computer programming whenever I have the time. I spent 6 years, off and on, programming at byond.com.

Nice to meet you all. This community looks like a mature one, void of flammers. Which is a nice thing to see. See you guys around!

Welcome to Darkbasic Pro.

I looked up Byond and it kinda looks like C++ but a lot different. What made you decide to try Darkbasic after programming in Byond for 6 years?

Thank you, and thank you to everyone else for the warm welcome.

I've always been open to a program that could develop a game beyond 2d. Byond is very simple to use, but it severely hinders the creator's freedom to utilize all of his/her ideas.

I actually read about DarkBasic in a magazine that I barrowed from one of the navy dudes on the ship with me. In my spare time for about a year or so I've written up screen plays, drawing sketches of environments, and jotting down ideas that I wanted to make into a game of my own.

Cool. Yeah Darkbasic does give us the freedom to make anything we dream up a reality.
