When I was in college in the late 90's, Goldeneye was the BIG game, and it was the username I used for my campus email address. Bond was already taken, so of course I had to be bond1.

bond, may I ask why you don't go pro? you could be working for big names right now. Why stay on these forums doing indie work?

My name is an abbreviation of my full name; Robert Knox
Robert = rb
Knox = knx

And if my full name cannot be posted on the forums for whatever reason then a mod can edit this post

Thank you for the compliment! However.....

I get paid for the work I do, so by definition I am a professional. People assume working for a big, well known game company is somehow the only legitimate professional job.

You see, working for a big, monolithic company like EA means being told what to do, and having absolutely no creative control in most cases. Hardly the "dream" job IMO. Working freelance, and doing jobs for TGC, means I can work when I want, I have almost full creative control, and I get to do a wide variety of work. From modeling to texturing to animation - instead of being relegated to one specific task. Trust me, TGC is a great company to work for, and keeps this fun. I turned pro the minute I started getting a paycheck for the work I do.

Awesome I got my first pay check from TGC Today!! Now I will probably spend it on more TGC products....!!! Very Smart TGC! lol

Edit: Hey bond1 are you taking on any Apprentices!! If not , You should create a Tutorial Dvd on how you create your really great detailed Models and animations. Step by step guide. I'd pay alot of money for that!

Bingo!

Plus they send you a Christmas card and you get to keep your copyrights

When I worked in the industry I came to the sad conclusion that I would never have a job 1/2 as cool as the one my non-industry friends thought I already had.

So, are these arms positioned ready to animate, or do I have to turn them around or something?

I want to make a couple of new guns, and a new set of modernday hands (lewis' texture) will be great for them.

I have been animating a new sword, but it isn't in FPSC ready quite yet, I need to improve the anims just a little.

bond I was wondering if you could tell me how you created(or at least what program/programs) you used to create this weapon effect?
Not the weapon itself just what it fires out.

Ahh the demon sceptre, one of my favorites!

The beam that shoots is just a V-shaped polygon hidden inside the sceptre, with two bones rigged to it: One bone anchors the beam inside the sceptre, and the other bone is animated to shoot the beam out. Modeled and animated with 3ds max.

Amazing work, Bond! Your hands are very helpful and very high detailed. Made some scene without any finger posing

But, a great tutorial how to animate weapons with max would be awesome

PS: Have you got MSN?

If my language is weird or just mysterious, please bear with me! I'm a german and... maybe my english isn't as good as yours
