Hello,

I found some nice models, but they were in mdl format.
I managed to get it in lots of smd files, but I don't
know if it's possible to get it fps ready. The smd files
include the animations and stuff and the textures are in
the map as well. Could someone try to get it fps ready?

Tomas

Source engine, or some other engine that uses the same type of theory of putting a model into another model.
(SMD is a model file, aswell as MDL).

BRB as I boot into Win7 to investigate this "Swat.rar" file(lol, Ubuntu ftw!)

I'm sure those models were intended for replacing the Counter Strike Source characters, rather than using for your own games. Personal use only, I imagine.

it doesn't matter if I use it for my own game or for counter strike source, which I own myself.

i know what the format is, i just wanted to make sure it wasn't from a game, like counterstrike.

Oh yes it does, unless you made it of which I highly doubt therefore if your original intent was to export it out to FPSC you would've used the Direct-X format.

Needless to say I'm accusing you of using someone else's work for your own benefit.

Checking the model & textures included in Swat.rar, the model is clearly the GSG9 player model from Counter-Strike v1.6, this meaning that you have now leaked that model onto the web, this leading to breaching the copyrights of owning the game, as VALVe does not allow porting media/content from there games to different engines.

So yeah, that means that all them L4D Ports on Garrys-Mod.org that contain the models are illegal, same goes with everything else that contain the models.

Also back-seat moderating here(not like I'm already doing it), its against the AUP to distribute models that are copyrighted work of someone else.
