Hello, im making a text based game, and i was wondering how best to decided what co-ords to place the text at, in my game its vital that the screen shows lots of different information at the same time, such as shields and armour. im forever doing trials and errors to find the right place, but it takes a long time. is there any better ways?

Lots of art programs show you the x and y of the mouse on an image.

Or write a little program that simply sits in a loop telling you the x and y of the mouse and outputting them to a file when you hit space. Then you can load a backdrop etc and find the places you need!
