Dark GDK / Normal FPS?

I am making a 2D breakout clone and the FPS is sitting around 30, is that normal when all I have on the screen is about 20 sprites, and only one of them moving. Also I have collision detection running every loop, but that doesn't seem to be the slowdown.

Make sure you disable backsave on all the sprites.



The last two arguments should be 0 and 1.

Thanks, I'll try that. What exactly does backsaving do?

Edit:

Ok, I read the documentation and now know what backsaving does. I tried it out and it worked great, thanks. I'm a little confused why the ball didn't start leaving copies of itself behind like I though would happen when I turned backsaving off...
