City of the Dead


Info:

For this game i wanted a mix between nazi zombies and a story based game. so that's what i did in City of the dead at points you will be searching the abandoned city or fighting hordes of zombies in the city. you will also sometimes find shelter and stay there (that's were the nazi zombies comes in).

Story:

Takes place: 2009

Jack Burner is on a wonderful vacation and is travel down the highway. 1 hour into the trip he realizes that he forgot to fill his car with gas. so he decides to get of at the next exit when he reaches the city his car runs out and a deafening siren goes off as the gates to the city close. jack has no clue whats going on. he tries to call 911 but...no signal. he finds an old newspaper stand and he pulls one out but surprisingly it had a date for 1950. The headline is !!ZOMBIE OUTBREAK!! Take your family and leave IMMEDIATELY!!! Jack being an ex-cop he searches for a gun wondering if he will survive

Tips:

-Break down doors and search for weapons.

-The zombies have a small heath but at sometimes there are hoards attacking at once

-You can roam the city but it is wise to look for a shelter. there you may find new weapons ammo and health

-Putting a bullet into a car may save you 5

Looks nice. But...

Make those cars (if they arent doing anything) static, as it is very visable you made them dynamic.

Maybe a big light that works as a Moon.

And dont use such a green/yelow light, maybe grey/orange/yellow lightish.

Anyway,

i am using the cars. you can shoot them to kill the zombies.(save some bullets)
ill work on the lighting.

Of course it does. When the loading is done it goes to MyGames folder. You executable. See from there! Oh, and I like how you made some windows as lightsources! This is looking sweet, man!

Unless you invented the first city ever to start with, then there's no way a "city setting" is your idea at all. Think you're original now?
And also, your name of 24 hours - The Dead City isn't exactly too close to "City of the Dead." And I bet that you basically copied off something else as well.

Oh, there is some muvh zombie movies and maby even games that take theur gameplay in a city! Really keep up the good work! Armageddon isn't that bad. He must be on a bad mood or something! He seems nice at some other threads!

I actually am-- i contribute to the forum community and whatnot-- i give away state of the art quality sounds and voice over effects

but in reality-- to take someones concept and try to compete with them on it isnt really acceptable in most peoples views-- its rude actually to see someone elses hard work and then take it as your own and use it while they are still in development with it...

and yes the 24 hours was my idea-- i was going to script the game as 24 hour timeline to get out of the city-- if the player failed to do so he died.

but really guys-- it is rude to take someones concept and remake it as your own

Sorry for the outbreak.
But the thing is, he isn't really taking your concept, I mean cities have been a classic scenario for a zombie, and he isn't taking your "24 hour" concept, so that's not exactly stealing your idea, eh?

as long as there is no 24 hour system, I don't think it will be stealing. I would understand if your "Zombies in a city idea" was really that original. I maen, there is hundreds of zombie W.I.Ps here, but no-one is saying nothing. Why? Becouse zombies aren't so original. And to put hem in a city, doesen't make it anymore original. If your idea was aliens studying french, then I would understand. But zombies in a city...

And bman: Does the player have a very low health too? Cause it would make it more intense if he had. More scaries would be: One bite you are dead.

@Adriano -- I know i wasnt trying to start anything here-- but put a point out there--

I went about it the wrongway at first-- because I was really upset about this i mean i just really want everyone in here to understand how bad it gets when you work hard on something and then see someone totally duplicate the idea witha few differences -- i have deleted my game and all the levels-- i am done for now-- good luck on your game BB-- i hope everything works out for you

Yes Armageddon Games, it's a shame you scrapped that project, I mean it is original by the fact that there's a time limit to get out of there. That's original.

I will finish the game but i need to find a way to fix an error(when im loading my test game it stops at initializing player and it say an error has occurred program needs to close)

check the player's stats, and try positioning it somewhere else, maybe it's colliding with an entity or segment
