hello,
i wanted to show you lot what i had been working on, its still very
earlly and in WIP form but i think parts are ready to be shown
so here is the Story:
A virus begins to spread on all mainlands. no one
can explain why or how, all they know is that it
isn't airborn. Horizon, a corporation paid by
goverments to offer sanctuary to uninfected citizens.
they solve the issue by constructing cities that float
on the ocean away from the mainland. you are a technician
who can't remember anything before the infection. while on
a ship heading towards one of these cities people begin to
disappear; only to be replaced by disgusting monsters. you
decide, as one of the few uninfected remaining that it is
your duty to find the source on the ship and destroy it before
the ship reaches the city.

and here are some screens

progress:
level 1-100%
level 2-5%ish

Well, here's an attempt, not my best one although
If you need something changed or want it to actually relate to a ship just let me know I didn't know for sure what you wanted so I just went for more generic, horror-esque

I must have missed this one, the images have a real atmosphere to them, and the lights have been lovingly placed.

Don't make your rooms too dark though, there is little more off-putting than a game you have to adjust your monitor to see.

Keep up the good work and make it your ambition to make your rooms unique and memorable

thanks,
here are some in game screens (finally) these are of the first level. I've decided to change the main character to a stow away on the ship who has been living in an unpopulated part of the ship in nothing but a sleeping bag.

heres two screens one of the starting area where you awake and the other from the hall outside the room

hope you like it and tell me what you think

Exploration. That is what made me so in love with Equinox. It didn't start like: "There is a zombie in here. Destroy it. Did I mention there is 100 zombies in here. Destroy them!" It started as a normal day at work. It's up to you. But keep it up. I love the new screens!

It depends on the length. If it's short, interesting, and sets the story well, the player will want to forgo the action they crave for it...

Violence isn't the answer, it's the question...

Those pipes look like you are trying to apply bumpcubereflectalpha to them, if so, I would reccomend a normalmap.

It's better to ease the player into the environment/setting, any characters, current situations, rather than making a level where you might as well enter a door and big text flies onto screen saying !FIGHT! Along with random battle music

Let the player explore around a bit, maybe give them tidbits as to what's going on, then let them discover the conflict

thanks for the advice guys, i think what i may do is have 2 routres to the end one thats easy and won't really have much but one thats hard to get but if you do get there it'll tell you stuff about what is happening, sound good

2Rouges@
i'm not acctually trying that, i may though make normal maps for each one but i dont think i will
