I know This has been asked a million times before and even though I searched like never before I still cannot figure out how to make the game Fade in

I've tried the sprite way with no avail and just hoped one person could step up to the plate and send me some code or something because right now I'm stuck.

Thanks in advance,

i dont know.

Maybe you could place a black sprite over the screen, then set a timer
and reduce the alpha as time passes to increase the transparency?

Yes, that's how it is usually achieved.
