This was kind of a whim that ASTEK got me started on, and it looked like fun at the time.

Included is everything you need to make a 747(kinda) airplane for a quick level. Dimensions, especially isle widths and heights had to be changed to allow for that big ball who is "FPSC guy" to be able to navigate through the plane. It couldn't be helped. Vanilla FPSC should have the feature to change the camera height at least.

This is an "inside only" level as you will quickly see when you step outside the plane and it disappears ( A Klingon cloaking technology that I can't discuss with you. You don't have clearance.) so stay inside the plane. The windows are real so you can place segments around the outside to suite or keep it dark out there. You could make a cream colored plane to place on the side wall to act as window shades.

The pack comes with an installer. As always, watch your install path and make any necessary changes, especially to the X10 directory. It looks better in X10 than these screen shots which were taken in X9.

This and more is available on fpsFREE.com at the top of the free entities list. Do not redistribute without permission. Enjoy.

EDIT: This could be a little confusing so I've attached a Step-by-Step PDF Guide to this post.

Brian.

Nice one Xplosys! This is great, something FPSC has been needing for a while I will definitely be using this, but, not in the way intended (You'll see )

Once again, Thanks!
All the best!

@ Xplosys

Nice work. I'm looking forward to this. My wife was on the fpsFree site and was so excited over the stuff you have listed for download. For over thirty minutes I listened to her go "ooooo, I like that" as she was on a download frenzy clicking like crazy. Anyways, just wanted to drop a line and say how much we really appreciate the work you do. It's artists like you, Cosmic Prophet, and many more that give us such great inspiration in creating our games. We hope to one day rise to the level where we can produce and distibute such excellent packs as you people have.

Keep up the great work.

Cheers.

Brian, can I suggest that you do an AO bake? That should be possible with most modeling packages. It would really help with the connection of the seats to the floor, as that's not looking fantastic right now.

Otherwise, fantastic work! Keep it up.

Thanks all for the kind comments.

Toasty Fresh, I'm confused. What's an AO Bake? The seats and floor are separate. One is a segment, and the other is an entity. Are you suggesting I make them one? I use MilkShape to model and LithUnwrap to UV.

AO is ambient occlusion, used to sort of blend lighting together. When you bake something you sort of render it to the texture, making it appear like it has a shader, but doesn;t use up as much processing power. For example, this happy fellow here: http://blogs.gscept.com/2008/08/ip6/public/blog/imgs/normalMap01.jpg

It's been modeled as a high poly model, done an AO bake, then had a low poly filter applied and then the texture bake is applied to the low poly mesh.

Although I'm pretty sure that Milkshape doesn't do this, so that explanation was pretty much pointless

Toasty Fresh,

Thanks for the explanation. While it may be beyond my reach with my current software, it does make me consider the parts as a whole picture and how each face will compliment another.

Thanks for the kind words, all. I've added a PDF Setup Guide to the first post.

Armageddon Games, looking at your screen shot makes me think this could double as a theater pack.

Very nice work! Some sort of a connection section (whatever that accordian tunnel thing is called) and alternate walls without open windows could solve the detail of no outside area.

That's the 7474747 super-delux-extra-extra-wide-body-trans-atmospheric-uber-spaceplane!

Random tangent but I really hate most 747s. They're really spartan and showing their age nowadays. 777s and the Airbus equivalents are so much nicer on a 14hr flight!
