So during my free time after doing my homework, since it was a weekday it was a no-video game day.
So I turned on my computer, fired up The GIMP, and started working on some textures, and decided to create a large free texture for the community.
The pack is planning to have 30-50 textures, all seamless, and some of them in bloody versions.
Attached is a screenshot of some of the textures, some of them need working on but a lot of them this is mainly the end.
Please give me any criticism.

ok, in gimp, it comes with some patterns, an example of which is the bricks texture.
I mean, its ok to use them, its just I like it when people create something new. I NEVER use stuff like cg textures, I create my own from scratch.
And again im not saying you 'shouldnt' use premade textures, Im just saying, I dont like it when you do.
No offense at all is meant

Haha I understand you there mate, I don't take offense that easily, yes some of them are used from premade patterns, but thats because I'm not exactly ready to start from scratch yet. But I promise, I'll work my way to it.

I'm also taking some requests, anybody got some?

I have seen lots of textures with a similar style on http://www.spiralgraphics.biz/packs/browse.htm , the problem with computer-generated textures is, that they dont match well with the ones from the core game and the model packs.

I would stick to photo-based textures to ensure a wide usability or go for the real exotic stuff like segments for an ice place, a hive complex or similar

Really? I didn't get anything off the web.

General Jackson, I will work on that if you have a reference pic...

I said "similar style" not that you took it off the web. I just wanted to illustrate that comp.gen looks very different from photo.gen and is hard to mix.
