I sometimes wonder if you're a robot. Like a robot who's criticism protocol is disabled so that even when you're presented with a number of blocky untextured meshes you still say "Nice one, really good, you're pro".
Vent, the meshes themselves are ok, but they're very blocky and lack detail. They could easily be saved from rubbishness if they had a decent texture on them, but right now they look horrible. Applying a blanket texture over the whole mesh just makes it look flat.
Initially just experiment with Planar mapping, you can get flat views of each angle (X , Y and Z) and paint staight on. Even if it's not the most perfect UV it's still better than flat texturing the whole thing. I don't want to get down on you, because you're trying and thats what this is all about, but I'm just saying that making this stuff for yourself is all very well and good practice and all, but for other users, as soon as you put this in your game alongside any stock media, you're going to be like, hmmmm doesn't look quite right.
Oh wait, I just read that you're using sketchup. In which case, I take it all back. It's not like you could've UVd them anyway.
I want robotic legs.
