Hi, I have a problem with my scar weapon model.
I have textured and uv'd it automatically with softimage's ultimapper tool.
The model is perfectly accepted by FPSC,but...see for yourself:

The forum won't pull images off your hard drive like that, you have to attach them to your post, or link us to a photo hosting website.

And this is the textured model...

I'd prefer not to use another program for the UV's, due to the fact that I have spent for Softimage a lot of money and time to study how to use it.

It looks to me that perhaps you need to fix the alpha channel in the .dds file. when you import to FPSC with entitymaker ( or whatever) anything that is true black becomes transparent. you need to make all areas in the alpha channel pure white to get it all to show up.

Try it and see if it helps. if your not sure how to do it, send me the .dds file and I'll have a look see.

Well,I know how to perfectly UV-Map, in Softimage,but...Looks like FPSC doesn't digest them...I mean I'd like someone to tell me how to make it work!!!How to make my Softimage models work with FPSC or lend me a helping hand or kill me...Cuz I'm frustrated,I've worked at this gun's high polymodel for 1 month...

Ok, I'm not familiar with the app your using, But I've had that happen when I get in a hurry sometimes and forget to import my new uv mapped model into my 3d program. I use uvmapper and milkshape.

After building the model I export it to an .obj file, import into uvmapper, map it, then save the model itself, then save the uvmap to a .bmp (or other)file. If I forget to import the new saved model, and try to apply the map to the original that is exactly what it looks like.

make sure you save the new mapped model, and import it before applying the map.

Hope this helps.

I\'ve tried using UV mapper Classic, but... well, same result...well,and when I import the model in UV Mapper, it looks like everything\'s perfect(well because SOFTIMAGE has a more powerful UV mapping tool)... Look for yourself...

Can you create a tutorial on doing this? Or could you take my model and see what's wrong Cosmic Prophet?

Ah, one last thing, if you solve the problem, can you please tell me how? The fact is...this problem is persisting for over a year, and I have a lot of polymodels to put in FPSC... Ah,and by the way, the SCAR model is yours and only yours, as a thank tou for all the help with only one condition:change the texture or texture color, that's all LOL

Ah, P.S. If you want the scar poly mesh with the Acog Scope or Reflex Sight, for free, all you need is to whistle LOL

here you go. just fix the scale to suit your needs, and paste your color texture on top of the supplied .dds file in the scar1 folder and it's ready to go. it's still just a FPSC ready entity at this point. You'll need to, of coarse, add your animations, etc.

Note: Trash the .mtl file!

I'll send you an e-mail soon with all you need to get the rest of your stuff working.

The Cosmic Prophet works for free around here my friend.
