What you could do, is open the brute's .x file and delete the chainsaw mesh, and replace it with eai's vweap model. Then set the brute to drop an invisible chainsaw., so it looks like you picked up the one in his hand.

Eeek, I wish it were that easy. That Chainsaw Brute character is one rat's nest of heirachies and constraints. Think about all that is involved with that one character...two handed weapon weilding, animated chain, animated pullchain, head that can come off.

Probably best thing to do it spawn EAI's chainsaw when the Brute is dead.

Yeah. You might also be able to script an alt-texture swap to make the brute's chainsaw invisible when he dies and the player chainsaw is spawned.

(I just played a demo with chainsaw brute in it- that dude's a masterpiece of rigging, animation and scripting!)

it'd be quite hard to write the script right now as you cant buy the chainsaw yet..im sure someone will write it when the chainsaw is released.

yea bond1 and errant ai is right. i already try it before someone made this comment. but you dont really need to make a script just spawn the weapon like the same way you would spawn door to open after killing a main character. go into Chainsaw Brute fpe and add ifuse on the ai line then go to the chainbrutedestroy2 fpi go to state=8 and add activateifused=1. that it just that easy lean to read scripts. i even did a mortal kombat type thing that once you take the chainsaw from him and have it up against his neck something says finish him. this is why my game is taking so long i custom alot. even know how to tell the zombies once they get shot run to the player and attack. they start off walking then get shot then start running to attack you. knowing how to script can also improve you performance.

more than what meets the eye
