I've created the following model which displays and animates perfectly in MilkShape:

It will also load and display perfectly in Dark Basic (Classic) fine, but as soon as I use PLAY OBJECT or LOOP OBJECT, when I run the program it looks like this:

until I remove the line. What am I doing wrong - must be something stupid!

This may not be relevant, but I used to have a less extreme version of that with models made in trueSpace 4.3. I had to change the model hierarchy by adding dummy objects.

Instead of the eyes and mouth being attached to the head like you would expect, there would be a dummy cube inside the head, and the head, eyes, and mouth would all be attached to the dummy cube.

the same thing happend to me, what i did is went to http://www.insanesoftware.de/ and downloaded the demo of character fx. Then i exported my modle in milkshape as a .Txt modle. The import it into Character Fx and exporte it again as .x. That should work

Wait a sec, does this model use Mesh Deformation? DBC can't handle that.

which exporter did you use and which exporter options? often it's the case that the exporter options are wrong so the object gets stretched during the export.

I had this problem. Make sure your character has all of its vertex assigned to bones in milkshape.
