What is your problem exactly? Is the UV map wrong or texture technique is just bad. Try placing a screen shot of a model you think is just plain horrible. I can make you a vid but need to know where you are going wrong. Also what modeling program are you using?

I am using milkshape, but I have yet to figure out how to unwrap a model in lithunwrap to get a UV map. I have a good texturing technique, but whenever I try to texture something with milkshapes's texture coordinate editor, it doesn't really turn out the way I think it will. Like it will look super stretched out or just completely out of place.

Thats what the problem is. If you dont have a good uv map then you will never have a good texture layout. Try working with Lith more often or get UVMapper which seems to be a good program. Its hard to model in MS then not be proficient with another program then expect to have a good model with texture. I dont use Lith but I have used UVMapper and its a pretty simple program. You have to export then import back in using .obj format but worth the hassle if you dont use something like 3ds or Blender which have very good uv mapping tools.

The people who do the models are good at what they do and know how to use the programs. Just takes time and practice really. Most good uv maps are done by hand placing each face where they want it and not using the auto mapping most programs provide.
