A nice little tunnel segment(Room,Round,Slope) with accompanying mine supports(3 different textures).

I am wondering if anyone else is having the same issue as we are. We can't pass through the mine supports. I'll recheck to see if I made an error on our end, but two different attempts yielded the same issue. It's a nice set though.

This looks very nice, but when i place the segments in the editor, they are all just white. Theyre white when i test the game too. Everything went in the right folders too, so i don't know why this is happening... Can somebody please help me?

At night i lay awake on my bed, gazing up at the stars, and i wonde-hey, where'd the roof go?

Did you extract the full "Mine Pack.zip\texturebank\GotAway\Dirt_Tunnel" or did you go straight to the "Dirt_Tunnel" folder and drag? Because it won't work if you don't get the full path. But if that's not it I have no idea... sorry

Mine were all white too. Did a quick check and found the issue.

Try this...

In the segments\GotAway\Dirt_Tunnel\ directory, look at the room.fps file.

The line texture0 = texturebank\GotAway\Dirt_Tunnel\Dirt.JPG

There is no dirt.jpg. There is a dirt.bmp. I converted a copy of the dirt.bmp to dirt.jpg and mine worked out fine.

Oh, I got the supports to work. It seems while I was placing them on the screen, my soon-to-be one year old who likes to stand beside me and watch, was pressing the keyboard.

Cheers

No problem. I had a similar issue before, so I remember to check the fps file to make sure it points to a valid texture file when objects appear white. An honest miss, but easy to fix. Glad to be of help.

I asked what software you used on ur other thread. Anyway so u using 3ds max 9, good good . Actually Perfect . Haha.. as i do too... Here is how to get automaticaly a uvmap. I never use this though, on complicated models. But this should be fine for less complicated ones.

Select your object.
If you have any vertex/face/edge selection mode on, please do it off.
Go to modifier tab, and brose to Unwrap UV.
Click on the + before the Unwrap UV and then select Face mode.
Press CTRL + A so you will select the whole object.
Click the edit button on your right side in you properties of you Unwrap Uv modifier.
Go to Mapping Toolbar and select : Flatten Mapping (also auto map = automaticaly uv map)
Leave Settings for as beginner.
Press Ok.
Done..
U uvmapped succesfully ur mesh.
U can render and save him by going to the Tools toolbar, and select Render UVMAP and play with settings i would deselect everything and put "Fill" color to white, other may be left alone as u deselected them.
u can change res by going from 1024 to 512 or i use most of the times 1024 but for scenes i use 2048 and for big open projects i use 4096. Anyway... That should do it i believe... Good luck, if u have problem please say, i am here to help.

After you have selected unwrap... A midifier tab will open click on the + before the unwrap ( thus not in the list) but in the properties of the modifier. Then sekect face and follow the other steps...

Er I found why. My boxing bag is made up of more than 1 object... theres is a plus when I have one object selected but not when I have all of them selected at once

Ofcourse not. u need to make it all one object. Go to polygon editing mode of object click attach, and click on all your other objects so u can make it one to unwrap it. Follow steps then.

Anyway i think u should get som tutorials around the net.

Well you could probably make your own thread and someone would tell you instantly... but I use "Model Maker" by Doomstator.

To render out the UV map, you click tools->Render UVW Template, here you can specify the size of the map, and then when you are happy hit the render Template button, and save it as a .jpg or other image file.
