Hi, all. Some of you may know I have moved from FPS creator to the Unity game engine. I just have a question, is anyone gonna mind if I use your models in unity? Thanks.

I miss you guys already

BTW I'm still using DBpro so I'll be in those boards

You should just read what the license agreements say. And if it doesn't allow you to use it in another engine then email the creator.

Unity is awesome btw I've pretty much moved on to it as well.

Signature's are stupid.

So... um... how many times are you gonna spam "I'm leaving, Unity is teh awesomeness" before you ACTUALLY leave?

Because, seriously... I'm getting tired of seeing your "Goodbye!! I'm leaving" in random threads. Just leave and stop posting about it. It's more annoying than the long-winded "I hate FPSC, I'm never coming back" threads people make.

Yeah, the demo island for Unity was great, the camera was jerky, the water didn't reflect (Because HEAVEN FORBID my DirectX10 GPU would be able to render a single reflection), the collisions were off, there was no health, ammo, guns of any sort.... but it was cool.

I'm still not leaving. Don't try to make me!

If you can use anything of mine, you're welcome to it. Good luck with Unity.

Brian.

I don't mind, but you're going to be leaving behind all of the breakthrough next-gen features that FPS Creator is has to offer, err ...:

I hate the Commodore64, but I made my first game on that.

I know you're excited about the whole Unity thing, but please for the love of all that is gaming, stop posting about it in every thread!!!

Off-topic: Does everyone like my new signature? I have absolutely nothing constructive to add here, but I just felt like posting in your thread to ask.

Yeah it's incredibly annoying.

Quote: "And I am having a hard time leaving, just, just, ***cries***"

Then stop saying you're leaving It's not like anyone cares anyways. Not to be mean but it's true.

Quote: "collisions were off, there was no health, ammo, guns of any sort.... but it was cool"

It's not an actual level. I found the islands demo amazing because of the speed. Put that "level" into FPSC and see how it runs. It certainly wouldn't run that incredible on my computer.
Quote: "the camera was jerky"

Strange.. I found it smoother than FPSC's camera. FPSC has always seemed sort of jerky to me. Though it could be this old piece of junk computer. I'm pretty sure this computer is made of wood lol.
Quote: "collisions were off"

Again... found the collision much better than FPSC's. Especially with dynamic assets (or what FPSC would call 'entity'.)

Quote: "the water didn't reflect"

Not that I even know how to use Unity yet but I'm sure that can be done.

Anyways, not to turn this into a Unity > FPSC thread....

Not yet.

So what's so great about Unity that FPSC doesn't offer straight out of the box? I suppose I understand if you want to make something besides an FPS. But if we're talking about first person shooters - wouldn't it take a HECK of a long time to make something comparable to what you can do in FPSC with a few clicks?

I mean, wouldn't it take months in Unity, just to build a simple room, place a character with a gun in it, make the character have some AI, make the character drop the gun when dead, make the player pick up the gun, etc, etc, etc. Just all the "simple" things we take for granted in FPSC.

EDIT: You can use my stuff in whatever you want, just wondering what all the hoopla is with Unity.

It was supposed to do it, but a pop-up appeared saying that my card couldn't do it for some odd reason.

Like I said I can say bye to whoever I want, and its YALL spamming, not me, since this thread has nothing to do with what I'm posting in other threads.
As for nobody caring, I'm sure that cant be true, since I like practically evrybody on the forum.
AAAAND as for everything you said about unity, true except that the fact that not all collisions were on. Very easy to fix though.
Anyways, PLY and JENKINS please stop spamming.

Have you tried Unity out? I would just see for yourself. Yeah it will take a lot longer, that doesn't make it a worse engine. I honestly think if someone says FPSC can produce better games than Unity than you're just being stubborn.

I'm not saying you shouldn't use FPSC. FPSC is awesome. It's a great hobby and I think it's the best engine to use to start off your game design path.

Me and Ply aren't spamming. We're annoyed and tired of reading you saying in literally every single post how you are leaving. Just leave already.

Bond1: You have to code.
Something I am more than willing to do.
Does FPSC have the graphics of Unity? No
Does FPSC have the ability to render millions of polies per second? No
Just two things that make me like it more. I want to make good looking games that can have a huge amount of polies.
I think I can make money off Unity.
I dont think I can make money off fpsc.
And once again, I DO NOT dislike fpsc, dont get me wrong.
I'm just wanting something that will require more work, and reap much better results.

Am I the only one here who finds this to be way out of scope of the board? Isn't this the "FPSC Models and Media" board? I didn't see anything about Unity..... oh, wait, i did... in about 30 other threads with posts by General Jackson.

If you want, you can use whatever media I've released in Unity. Although, it's probably going to be a while before you get to the point where you need music...
