Do you need to buy anything else than dark basic to get it running?

if not than if it has no upgrades does it work well?

If you bought dbp, just download the latest update (5) and the latest IDE update 1.09b

Also you'll need DirectX 9.0b and your video card's latest drivers from manufacturer.

Nothin that you gotta pay for tho Unless you want some other tools for stuff like BSP, 3D art and 2D art, then ya thats a whole nother area.
