HI all,

I recently saw this thread: When Player dies show pop-up menu

and wondering how to make the hud not show if player's life is "0".
Just point me to the right direction and i will attempt to do it myself.

Everytime player dies a hud appers "Continue? Yes or No?" It all works GOOD but when the player finally dies (game over, in other words health 0 and life 0) it looks weird to see the Continue option there! Is it possible to do so?

Using PBUM, run this as a condition (This condition will only return TRUE, if the player has more than 0 lives):

Also, while on the topic... you can also change how many lives the player has by simply using "$PL" with any variable changing command, such as "setvar=$PL X", "addvar=$PL X", etc.

Hey ply, I tried it but it is not working! The "Continue hud" is not being displayed neither the engine pause the game when the player dies. It was working all good before putting that condition you suggested. Can you please correct it?

If it was working before, you can try taking the condition out and just leaving your "setvar=$PL 3" action in there. That should prevent them from getting a game over (because they would always have 3 lives)

Well, I am supposed to get a game over screen after the player dies 3 times, but i don't want the hud to be displayed the last time.

Well, you said you didn't want a game over screen, so I figured that was the easiest way to achieve it.

Why not edit the gameover script? Remove the HUDs and have it go back to the title screen immediately?
